Well it’s been an interesting few months as we have all adjusted to living, teaching and training in a completely new way during the Covid 19 pandemic. We have learnt so much from one another and our students, Instructors and the Leadership Team have all adapted brilliantly. One thing is for certain, every Gorseinon & Killay student has been kept very busy and active during Lockdown! Even our June grading sessions went ahead smoothly with your support, just like they do in the Dojo. Instructors conducted gradings from Gorseinon, Killay, Llanelli and even England! We just can’t wait to welcome students back including those who joined us for the first time during Lockdown. It will be great to show them our wonderful exclusive fully matted G&K and Points Fighter Academies, gym equipment area and Fightwear Store UK shop which is located in Gorseinon, Swansea.
We would like to thank our Instructors, Leadership Team and Blackbelts as well as all our students and families for your support, gifts, cards and encouraging words. Thanks to Dr Amy too who did a special Coronavirus Q and A session on Zoom from her home in Gloucester and thanks to our youngest students from Gorseinon, Penllergaer, Llanelli and Dunvant who chatted to her with their parents. With your support from day 1 of Lockdown our classes have gone from strength to strength. It’s great that we have all kept a sense of ‘normality, albeit ‘virtually’ with our daily classes.
The Gorseinon & Killay Leadership Team have followed all Government guidelines and have been working hard behind the scenes during Lockdown to put stringent safety measures in place, so our students from Swansea, Dunvant, Killay, Llanelli, Gower and all the surrounding areas can safely return to the Dojo to train in person with us. Therefore, with all our careful preparation as soon as the Welsh Government announced today that we can reopen, we aired our instructional video that explains all the procedures that we have been working on over the last few months-so we are more than ready to open again from Monday August 10th. Our online Zoom classes will continue to run online to complement our face to face sessions, so you can join in these from anywhere in the world!
It’s been remarkable that our World Class Fighting Team have been continuously learning and revising even more drills and techniques during Lockdown, so we have amazingly been able to keep up that side of Kickboxing too. Supplementing Dan’s teaching from his home in Llanelli, we have even had the support of online sessions from the greatest Kickboxers from the UK and all over the World, such as Canada and America. We thank each and every one of them for giving up their time and we can’t wait to attend your seminars in the Dojo again, we are sure places will get booked up immediately as our students are so keen to learn more from you.
Whether our students and families live in Gorseinon, Killay, Dunvant, Gower, Neath, Port Talbot, Ammanford or Llanelli we have kept connected with them and thank them for their support and commitment to their training programmes.
